I am Jane Sorrell, a UK-based coach offering 1:1 coaching, EFT/Tapping, and somatic wellbeing support. For the purposes of data protection law, I am the Data Controller of your personal data.

Depending on your interaction, I may collect and process the following:

  • Personal details – e.g. name, email, phone number (when you book a session or complete a contact form)

  • Coaching records – brief session notes or reflections, used solely to support our ongoing work

  • Payment information – processed securely by third-party providers (e.g. iZettle)

  • Website usage data – via cookies or basic analytics tools

4. How I Use Your Information

I only use your personal data when necessary, for reasons such as:

  • Delivering coaching services to you

  • Responding to enquiries or booking requests

  • Managing appointments, payment records, and communications

  • Meeting legal or professional requirements

  • Improving website performance (via anonymised analytics)

I do not use your data for unsolicited marketing or share it with third parties, except where strictly required by law.

5. Lawful Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, I rely on the following lawful bases:

Your personal information is stored securely using trusted platforms (e.g. encrypted email, password-protected files, secure booking/payment tools). In addition, all personal data is stored either on a password-protected device or in locked physical files. Digital information is further protected by secure folder organisation, and access is restricted to the Coach only. Information is retained only as long as necessary to support the coaching relationship and meet any legal obligations.

7. Session Confidentiality

Everything shared during coaching sessions is treated as confidential. Information will not be shared without your written consent, except:

  • If I am legally obliged to disclose

  • If there is risk of harm to you or others

  • If requested by court order or regulatory authority

8. Use of Technology

Please note that communication by email, Zoom, WhatsApp, or other digital tools carries inherent risks. By engaging in coaching, you agree to the use of these technologies and understand they may not be 100% secure.

9. Cookies & Website Analytics

This website may use cookies to:

  • Understand visitor behaviour

  • Improve the site’s performance and user experience

  • Support basic advertising and performance tracking (e.g. Google Ads)

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer.

10. How Long Your Data Is Kept

  • Coaching records may be kept for up to 7 years, in line with professional guidance and legal obligations.

  • Enquiry emails or contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed.

  • You may request deletion of your data unless legal grounds require its retention.

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct or update inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)

  • Object to processing or request restriction

  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

12. Third-Party Tools & Data Transfers

The following services may process your data on my behalf (each has their own privacy policy and GDPR compliance):

  • Zoom or Google Meet (for sessions)

  • Stripe / iZettle (for payments)

  • Gmail or Apple Mail (for communication)

  • WhatsApp (for agreed communications)

These platforms may store data on servers outside the UK/EU, but all have standard safeguards in place (e.g. encryption, privacy frameworks).
