Coaching Agreement & Terms of Service
This agreement applies to all coaching and mentoring services provided by Jane Bliss Sorrell (“Coach”) to any individual or organisation (“Client”) and forms the basis of our work together. By booking a session or engaging in a coaching program, you are confirming that you understand and accept the terms below.
1. Coaching Disclaimer
-
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to support you in achieving your personal or professional goals.
-
Coaching does not treat or diagnose medical or mental health conditions and is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or medical advice.
-
You remain responsible for your own wellbeing, decisions, and actions. Results are not guaranteed.
-
Coaching may include complementary techniques such as EFT (Tapping), breathwork, or NLP. These are always offered with your informed consent and can be declined.
-
The Coach may suggest tasks or “homework” to support your progress. Completing these is optional, though encouraged.
-
Coaching is currently an unregulated industry in the UK. You understand your Coach is not a licensed therapist or medical professional.
2. Session Format
Sessions are held online or in person (by agreement). Online sessions may take place via Zoom, Google Meet, or phone. In-person locations are arranged in advance. Sessions are typically 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed.
3. Session Scheduling & Payment
Scheduling
Dates and times will be agreed between Coach and Client in advance via email.
Fees & Payment
-
Fees are confirmed prior to each session or program and published on the website.
-
Payment is required 48 hours before each session via secure payment link, bank transfer (by invoice), or (by prior arrangement) cash/card in person.
-
If payment is not received at least 24 hours in advance, the Coach reserves the right to cancel the session.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Programme Timeframes
-
Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice.
-
Cancellations made between 24–48 hours will be charged at 50% of the session fee.
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be charged in full.
-
Pre-paid packages must be used within 6 months of purchase unless otherwise agreed.
-
Coaching programs are non-refundable once started. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. illness, bereavement), unused sessions may be refunded at the Coach’s discretion.
For monthly coaching programs:
Clients who commit to a monthly program (e.g. 4 sessions per month at a set fee) are expected to use those sessions within the monthly cycle. While flexibility is offered, sessions that are not taken within the month they were paid for may not be carried over, unless otherwise agreed.
If sessions are repeatedly rescheduled or postponed, leading to a program stretching significantly beyond the original timeframe (e.g. a 3-month program extending over 4+ months), the Coach reserves the right to revisit the arrangement and discuss revised terms or additional fees.
5. Contact Between Sessions
Clients may email between sessions for brief check-ins, clarification, or to reschedule. WhatsApp or text may be used for logistical purposes only, and within working hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–7pm), unless otherwise agreed.
6. Confidentiality
All personal information shared during sessions is held in confidence, with the following exceptions:
-
If there is risk of serious harm to you or others
-
If the Coach is required by law to disclose
-
If information is already publicly known or was independently obtained
7. Early Termination
The Coach reserves the right to end the coaching relationship at any time due to illness, ethical concerns, inappropriate behaviour, conflict of interest, or personal circumstances. Where possible, reasonable notice will be given and unused sessions refunded.
8. Coach Responsibilities
Your Coach will:
-
Provide professional, compassionate support
-
Offer guidance aligned with your personal or professional goals
-
Maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold confidentiality
You are solely responsible for your own decisions, actions, and outcomes. The Coach makes no guarantees regarding results.
9. Liability & Waiver
You release and waive any claims against the Coach for outcomes arising from your participation in coaching. The Coach’s total liability is limited to the amount paid by you for coaching services. No liability is accepted for indirect or consequential damages.
10. Changes to Terms
The Coach may update these terms with one week’s written notice by email. If you do not accept the changes, you may discontinue coaching and request a refund for any future sessions not yet used.
11. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, with exclusive jurisdiction belonging to its courts.
